Lewisham Man appeal featured in Metro UK
Today, we are launching a crucial appeal, featured first in the Metro UK. In their recent article, Josh Layton brings attention to a case that has baffled investigators for an entire decade. A Lewisham man, who tragically lost his life ten years ago, left behind an intriguing set of tattoos that may hold the key to solving the mystery surrounding his untimely death.
Our team of volunteer detectives have released all available images and we have worked with Hew Morrison to create a new living depiction in a fresh appeal for information.
The man is thought to have been of East Asian descent, and estimated to be in his 40s to 50s. He has remained anonymous since being discovered in an unconscious state on a Lewisham street in South London on April 1, 2010, following a cardiac arrest.
In an effort to reinvigorate this unsolved case, Locate volunteer Bill Anderson has led a dedicated investigation. Bill, a former police officer with experience both in the UK and Hong Kong, said:
“This is a case where we have extremely limited information; for example we don’t know what clothing the gentleman was wearing at the time, which might trigger someone’s memory.
He did have certain items in his possession, including a mobile phone, four unidentified tablets and an Oyster card suggesting he was travelling at least locally, and it would be incredibly helpful to know more details about those.
What is unusual, and hinders us further, is that we don’t even know the exact location where he was found, other than it has been described as a Lewisham street. We have heard from one individual involved with public burial funeral arrangements who recalled a case around the same time from the “Ladywell Fields” area of Lewisham which provides a further piece of information that might be useful.”
